** City Chase Seattle – volunteer or compete! – Sat 8/9 – “Seattle City Chase is an Amazing Race-style event that has arrived in Seattle! Teams will participate in a variety of physical, mental, and comic challenges designed to test their endurance, knowledge of the city and willingness to have fun.”

** Registration for The Bridge is open now! “Want to impact your community at a leadership level? The Bridge is a multi-session training covering nonprofit and public board governance, financials and fundraising. Once completed, participants are connected with board opportunities with area nonprofits and regional public entities.”

** Service Trip to New Orleans – Oct 11-18 -”Seattle Works is taking our volunteer programs on the road! Spend a weekend in the mountains…a week in the Gulf Coast… or ten days in Peru. Our goal is to provide you with more in-depth volunteer opportunities that can accommodate a variety of schedules and budgets.”

** South Lake Union Block Party - Fri 8/8 – “Relax under the summer sun, sample food from several of South Lake Union’s savory neighborhood restaurants, interact with friends in the Redhook beer garden, watch local chefs battle it out in the Whole Foods Market Audacious Burger Challenge, entertain the kids with fun interactive games and activities, groove to the sounds of local bands on the live music stage, watch a movie screening under the stars and much more!”

** Host an international university student for a week! “More than 1000 new international students and scholars from 150 different countries will arrive at the University of Washington this fall – and many of them would love an opportunity to learn about American culture from a welcoming host family. By offering hospitality to international students, Seattle hosts form bonds of friendship that cross borders, foster international goodwill, and can last a lifetime.”
